This is a 7 days safari in Zimbabwe that combines a Victoria Falls Tour with wildlife game viewing in Zimbabwe, Southern Africa. Rediscover Zimbabwe and take and enjoy a fabulous 1 week safari including overnight stays at exclusive lodges. Go on a guided tour of Victoria Falls, having experienced the thrill of standing on the edge of the Falls and enjoy game drives in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe's biggest and best known wildlife park.
Day 1: Arrive at Victoria Falls Airport, Zimbabwe
On arrival at Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe, you will be met and transferred to Lokuthula Lodges. This afternoon, you will explore the mighty Victoria Falls on a guided tour.
Day 2 & 3: Transfer to Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe
After breakfast, you will leave the Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park. On arrival, carry out the game drives with a visit to the painted dogs centre. Hwange National Park is one of Africa's finest havens for wildlife and is home to vast herds of elephant, buffalo, zebra and has a very large concentration of giraffe. It is also home to many predators and endangered species plus very large and varied birdlife. The whole of the next day is spent exploring this magnificent area.
Day 4: En-route to Matobo
Depart Hwange National Park and head to Big Cave Camp in the Matobo area. The Matobo Hills comprise an extraordinary collection of huge bare granite hills with gravity-defying boulders scattered all over the countryside to create a quite unique and rather mysterious landscape. The Park is famous for its outstanding views, San (bushman) painted caves, wildlife and as the chosen burial place of Cecil Rhodes who named his favorite spot. You will visit the grave of Cecil John Rhodes on our way. Dinner and overnight at Big Cave Camp
Day 5: From Matobo to Great Zimbabwe Ruins
After breakfast, drive to the Great Zimbabwe Ruins via Gweru. You will visit the ruins, before checking into your overnight accommodation. The ruins are a unique testimony to the Bantu civilization of the Shona between the 11th and 15th centuries. The city which covers an area of nearly 80 ha, was renowned as an important trading centre from the Middle Ages onwards.
Day 6: Head to Mutare
Drive to Mutare, located high in the mountains of the Eastern Highlands, Mutare is on the border of Mozambique and is Zimbabwe's gateway to the sea. In this area known as the Eastern Highlands one enjoys rigorous mountain terrain and lush green forests. While sightseeing in the area, you will find vista views and rushing mountain streams teaming with fresh mountain trout.
Day 7: End of Tour
Today is the last day of your Zimbabwe experience. After breakfast, our guide will take you back to Victoria Falls Airport for your onward journey back home.
