Africa Travel Co is an overland tour operator running safaris throughout Southern and Eastern Africa. Africa Travel Co has been in operation for over 12 years and are proud of the fact that they are the only overland company with operational bases in Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Harare and Nairobi. They also have 2 offices in Australia situated in Perth and Sydney.

Africa Travel Co has a fleet of 25 Mercedes Benz overland trucks, designed for the best safety and comfort for clients. Vehicles carry full cooking and camping equipment, cassette players, exterior and interior lighting, roll up PVC sides with windows, lockers, long-range fuel tanks and 300 to 400 litre water tanks.

They cater to a wide range of client�le and have something that will suit the needs of every traveller. Their client's range in age and nationality - please bear in mind they do not have an upper age limit. On all their trips they have three crew members, the driver, the tour leader and the safari cook. Most of the crew have spent quite a few years on these tours and have extensive knowledge of the countries you are travelling in.

Even though they have a cook on board with them they ask their passengers to participate in the preparation of food on a rota basis and assist with the cooking. Food is purchased daily from many markets and road stalls along the way, which is ably supported by a bulk buy of food prior to departure. These are camping trips and such use three person dome tents (but only with two people in them) with sewn in grounds sheets, and a separate flysheet.

A communal kitty system is used and it is this fund that covers all game park fees as detailed in the individual trips plus various excursions. In addition to the above, the kitty covers three meals a day prepared from the truck as well as all the camping fees.
