What differentiates Wildlife Adventures from the rest?
Many of the options and products that they offer, or are able to design, are unique to Wildlife Adventures. New products and destinations are the crucial factor in leading the market. They believe that they are unsurpassed in their quality of service, and this stems largely from their knowledge, and dedicated passionate team. Their philosophy is to cover not only the mainstream African destinations, but also the lesser-travelled regions.

What kind of vehicles do you use?

Consistency is important and Wildlife Adventures is particularly proud of its consistent record when it comes to reliability of equipment and vehicles and the consistently high standard of service levels that their guides have met and continue to meet. They also know that change is important and that their products and services should always be exciting and imaginative. So they ensure that all aspects of their business are continually assessed and changed to keep ahead of the pack.

The self-contained, specially designed and equipped vehicles form the backbone of their adventure operations in Africa. The majority of fleet of vehicles are manufactured by Mercedes-Benz or MAN and maintained by their highly qualified and professional team. Vehicles meet the highest standards of self-sufficiency in the adventure industry and Wildlife Adventures has an enviable operations record – unsurpassed in the industry. They also own all of their vehicles. Wildlife Adventures also owns and operates 2 fully equipped Toyota Land cruisers for smaller groups.

    Are all your guides/staff qualified?

Their guides are some of the best in the industry. They represent the company and act as ambassadors and ensure that excellent standards are maintained. Wildlife consider the time, training and investment in them as one of the most important things they do. Motivated, passionate and African born and bred, they try to place teams and guides with varying strengths and interests to make a balanced team per vehicle. They also operate their own annual month long training course for both old and new guides. Excellent flora, fauna, wildlife knowledge is a given, but on this training exercise they brush up on the fine details like African legends, folklore, the ability to prepare varied and imaginative special diet meals, and most importantly the character skills to be excellent leaders, interpreters and companions in Africa.

    Is travel insurance necessary?
All travellers are required to take insurance to cover cancellations and curtailment, baggage loss or damage, medical expenses, emergency travel, repatriation and personal accident before leaving their country. It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that they are fully insured. Most travel insurance policies have a restriction on compensation for loss, damage or theft of single valuable items (e.g. cameras). Clients should ensure that they check their policy carefully and if necessary insure valuable items separately, (e.g. under a home contents policy with overseas extension). Clients should take their insurance policy with them on safari. Please also note that travel insurance provided with credit card payment is usually inadequate for travel of this nature.

Do I need to sign an indemnity form?
Passengers may be required to complete and sign an indemnity form prior to joining the safari.

    Are visas and passports necessary?
All clients will require a valid passport, and it is their responsibility to ensure that they have valid visas for all countries visited on their holiday, and / or sufficient blank pages for any visas and for entry / departure stamps. The passport must be valid for at least six months after the end of their holiday. If clients have more than one passport, they recommend that they use one passport only for the entire journey, this will save problems and potential delays at border crossings. Requirements differ depending on nationality – check with the appropriate Embassies for details. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that they are in possession of the correct visas for your holiday and onward travel. Wildlife Adventure cannot accept responsibility for anyone who is refused entry to a country because they lack the correct documentation. There will be times during the trip, when passport will be collected e.g. by the tour leader, hotel reception staff or police.

    What is the limited participation?

Most of their adventure camping safaris call for client’s limited participation in the camp and cooking duties. This means that the guides will supply all meals and camp duties on behalf of the group, and if anyone is wishing to help at anytime, the guides are always happy for assistance! Clients will be required to put up and take down their tents.

What equipment is included in your camping safaris?

For the most part on your camping safaris, you will be using formal campsites along the way with running water and basic facilities. In addition, there will normally be one or two nights bush camping where there are no facilities at all. Large dome tents are provided, as well as chairs, tables and cooler boxes.

Hotels, lodges or chalets where used, will be based on simple tourist class style accommodation. In some cases and in remote regions – ablution facilities may be on a shared basis.

    Is Malaria precautions necessary?
Anyone participating in an adventure safari must be in good health. Clients are advised to bring a simple personal first aid kit. Malaria prophylactics are essential and must be taken prior to the trip and throughout its durations. Recommended vaccinations and other health protection vary from country to country. They recommend that each client contacts their doctor and gains the correct medical advice about vaccinations. All clients must have full medical and travel insurance cover before joining the tour.
