The Orange River originates from the Lesotho Highlands up in the Drakensberg Mountains and meanders through South Africa, divides the Richtersveldt Desert Reserve before meeting the icy Atlantic Ocean. The Richtersveldt hosts old volcanic mountains and the trails of the Khoi San people. 50% of the succulent plants are endemic to the region and it is also famous for many semi-precious stones found in the area. Highlights:
