Lusaka - Kafue National Park - Livingstone - Victoria Falls

Lusaka:
Fly into Lusaka and collect your hired vehicle.  National car hire options.

Lusaka – At the heart of the country and the crossroads of Southern Africa, the capital is a hive of commercial fervour and free enterprise, bustling with a unique character and energy.  The colourful markets, burst at the seams, selling everything from fruit and vegetables to printed cloth and curios.  The city’s many night spots offer the exotic taste of local rhythms, music and dancing.

Step 2.

Lusaka -Kafue National Park:
Drive west to Kafue National Park – central area.

Kafue, the size of Wales, is one of the world’s largest National Parks.  The Kafue River and it’s tributaries contribute to the great diversity of landscapes making this one of the most interesting and rewarding African Parks.

Step 3.

Kafue:
Spend the day at exploring the central area.

Kafue – Itezhi-Tezi Lake area:
After breakfast check out and depart for the area near the Itezhi-Tezi Lake.  Check into accommodation to be reserved in Kafue National Park.

Itezhi-Tezi Lake area:
Spend the day at leisure.

Step 6.

Kafue National Park – Livingstone:
After breakfast check out and depart through the Nanzhila plains and the Dundumwezi Gati via Kalomo to Livingstone.

Livingstone town, former capital of Zambia, was named after the famous Scottish explorer, Dr David Livingstone who explored much of the area.  Because of its proximity to the Victoria Falls, Livingstone became known as the tourist capital of Zambia.

Livingstone:
Spend the day at leisure.  Take time to visit the Victoria Falls.
