Windhoek:
On arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, Windhoek, collect your rental car. National car options.

Windhoek - situated at an altitude of 1654 metres above sea level and surrounded by mountains, Windhoek has a fresh and light atmosphere. While the German colonial architecture is still very much in evidence, new buildings emanate a definite feel of Africa.

Step 2. Windhoek - Sossusvlei:
After breakfast check out. Depart Windhoek for Sossusvlei, which is about 4 - 5 hours drive. The majority of the roads are good dirt roads and one has to travel at a moderate speed. Sossusvlei is the dune wonderland, with towering dunes up to 300m high surrounding a huge, dried-up pan. Dunes extend as far as the eye can see and their rich tints vary from pale apricot to vivid reds and oranges.

Check into accommodation to be reserved at Sossusvlei or Sesriem or NamibRand Nature Reserve.

Spend your day at leisure. Optional excursions at Sossusvlei. Overnight at accommodation of your choice.

Step 4. Sossusvlei - Swakopmund:
fter breakfast, check out. Depart for Swakopmund, which is about a 4-hour drive along a dirt road. The Germans originally established a small port at Swakopmund in 1890 and today Swakopmund is a luxury seaside resort much appreciated by the inhabitants of the capital. The town's German architecture harks back to this period.

pend the day at leisure. Overnight at accommodation of your choice.

Step 6. Swakopmund - Windhoek:
fter breakfast, check out. Depart on a 4-hour drive to Windhoek for your onward bound flight.
