Step 1.

Cape Town to West Coast:
Cape Town is the cosmopolitan "Mother City of South Africa" with its beautiful and scenic peninsula, oceans, lakes, mountains, shopping malls, theatres and recreational facilities.

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, collect your vehicle.  National car hire options.

Depart Cape Town International Airport for an approximate 1.5 – 2 hour drive, travelling along the West Coast.

Check into accommodation to be reserved in Langebaan or Saldanha or Velddrif and Lamberts Bay.

Saldanha - a fishing Harbour and Iron-Ore Naval Base with short trips out to sea, restaurants and small shops.

Lamberts Bay - The picturesque seaside village of lamberts Bay is situated two and a half hour’s drive from Cape Town. This seafood Mecca, in the heart of crayfish country is increasingly attracting holidaymakers, weekenders and day-trippers.

Langebaan - is situated on the eastern shore of the Langeban lagoon. Until recently it was a holiday resort, retirement and fishing village.

Step 2.

West Coast to Clanwilliam or Citrusdal or Piketberg:
After breakfast (at your own expense), check out.  Depart for an approximate 1 – 2 hour drive travelling through Lambert’s Bay and Velddriff and check in to where accommodation is to be reserved in the Cedarberg region.

Drive via Velddrif where there are saltpans with bird life, the Berg River, a unique art gallery in an old church built in 1908.  You will also drive past Elands Bay, which is a bird watchers paradise.  Lamberts Bay is a picturesque seaside village.  The pure white beaches and blue sea offers ample opportunity for sea adventures and sport. Visitors can view gannets, cormorants, penguins and seals at Bird Island, which attracts ornithologists from all over the world.

Clanwilliam lies on the well-watered valley of the Jan Dissels stream, where most things seem to grow well; subtropical and deciduous fruit and many vividly coloured flowers, notably red-hot pokers.

Clanwilliam or Citrusdal or Piketberg to Vanrhynsdorp:
After breakfast, check out.  Depart for about a 45-minute drive to Vanrhynsdorp.

The Valley presents its own sights, such as flowers, bird-life, hiking trails, mountain trips, bushman paintings and a breathtaking waterfall.

Vanrhynsdorp to Springbok:
After breakfast, check out.  Depart on the N7 for about a 2-hour 30-minute drive to Springbok.

In a narrow valley between the imposing granite domes o the Klein Koperberge(small copper mountains) is the town of Springbok, capital of Namaqualand. The town is an administrative, commercial, farming and industrial centre.

Springbok to Augrabies Falls National Park:
After breakfast, check out.  Depart for an approximate 3-hour drive to Augrabies Falls National Park. 

The Khoi people called it "Akoerabis", the place of the Great Noise, referring to the Orange River thundering its way downwards for 60 metres in a spectacular waterfall. Picturesque names such as Moon Rock, Ararat and Echo Corner are descriptive of this rocky region, characterised by the 18-kilometre abyss of the Orange River Gorge and craggy outcrops dominating scrub dotted plains. Klipspringer and Kokerboom (quiver trees) stand in stark silhouette against the African sky, silent sentinels in a strangely unique environment where only those that are able to adapt ultimately survive.

Augrabies Falls National Park to Kgalakgadi Transfrontier National Park:
After breakfast (at your own expense), check out.  Depart Augrabies for an approximate 3.5-hour drive and enter the Kgalakgadi Transfrontier National Park.

Where the red dunes and scrub fade into infinity and herds of gemsbok, springbok, eland and blue wildebeest follow the seasons, where imposing camel thorn trees provide shade for a huge black-maned lions and vantage points for leopard and many raptors…. this is the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park.

Kgalakgadi Transfrontier National Park - Upington - Johannesburg :
Depart Kgalakgadi Transfrontier National Park for an approximate 4 or 6-hour drive to Upington.  Drop off your rented vehicle at Upington Airport and check in on time for your flight to Johannesburg.

Visit Museum Africa, which offers a superb insight into the country's history or the Johannesburg Art Gallery, to see exquisite South African and international works. The Johannesburg Stock Exchange has a public gallery, while on the city outskirts is "Gold Reef City", a re-creation of the city when it was a turn-of-the-century gold mining town

Step 11.

Johannesburg – Mpumalanga (area next to Kruger National Park):
You have an option to drive or fly to Mpumalanga.

Option 1:  Drive:  We will arrange to have your vehicle delivered at your accommodation.  National  car hire options

Depart Johannesburg for an approximate 4 – 5 hour drive to Mpumalanga where you can spend the balance of the day exploring this escarpment of bountiful waterfalls, rain forest and dramatic scenery.  En route, enjoy attractions in Pilgrim’s Rest , Sabie or Hazyview or White River. 

Option 2:  Flight options from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit, Mpumalanga International Airport or Phalaborwa.

On arrival collect your hired car.  National car hire options.

Step 16.

Kruger National Park or Private Game Lodge – Swaziland:
After breakfast, check out.  Depending on your overnight stay, it is about a 3-hour drive on the R40 to Nelspruit from a central Kruger restcamp.  Continue on the R40 for another 1-hour drive to Barberton.   Take the gravel road for about a 2-hour drive to enter Swaziland at the Bulembu Border Post and continue to Piggs Peak.  Check in to where accommodation is to be reserved in Swaziland.

Swaziland - (a diverse land of contrasts). Game Parks offering wildlife; hiking in the beautiful Piggs Peak Region; Cultural and heritage sites and villages.

Depart the Drakensberg for about a 4-hour drive along the N3 back to Johannesburg.
