Step 1.

Johannesburg – Mpumalanga:
Johannesburg is a great city for shopping, eating out and nightlife, Johannesburg is the commercial heartbeat of South Africa. Visit Museum Africa, which offers a superb insight into the country's history or the Johannesburg Art Gallery, to see exquisite South African and international works. The Johannesburg Stock Exchange has a public gallery, while on the city outskirts is "Gold Reef City", a re-creation of the city when it was a turn-of-the-century gold mining town.

Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, collect your rented vehicle.  National car hire options

Take a private transfer or flight to Mpumalanga.  Flight options from Johannesburg  to Mpumalanga International Airport or Hoedspruit or Phalaborwa.
OR
Private road transfers options from Johannesburg to Mpumalanga.

If driving, depart Johannesburg for an approximate 4 hour drive for Mpumalanga. 

This area includes exclusive country escapes; Drakensberg escarpment with majestic mountains, trout streams, historic interest (Pilgrims Rest) walks, landscapes; breathtaking sights and waterfalls e.g. God’s window; the spectacular Blyde River Canyon.

Enjoy the en route attractions through Dullstroom, Lydenburg, Sabie, White River, Pilgrim’s Rest or Hazyview. 

Check in to accommodation to be reserved in Sabie or Hazyview or White River or Pilgrims Rest or Blyde River Canyon.

Step 2.

Mpumalanga:
Spend your days at leisure exploring this beautiful region.

Step 3.

Mpumalanga or Private Game Lodge or Kruger National Park:
Depart for accommodation affording you the opportunity to experience the “Big Five” wildlife safari at either a private Game Lodge or Kruger National Park.

Optional private transfers from  Pilgrims Rest or Blyde River Canyon or Sabie or Hazyview or White River or Hoedspruit to the Kruger National Park or a Private Game Lodge within the Kruger National Park or surrounding Game Reserves at either Sabi Sand, Timbavati, Manyeleti , Thornybush or Balule.

For optional Elephant back Safari, transfer to a “Big Five” private game lodge,  Kapama Game Lodge.

For those wanting a private guide / driver for the the Kruger National Park, single driver/guide accommodation is required.

Kruger National Park. The animals you may see include the Big Five (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino), plus 137 species of mammal, 112 species of reptile, 33 of amphibian and 227 of butterfly.  There have been 493 species of birds recorded in the Park.  The most common animals to be found in these areas are impala, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, giraffe, waterbuck, warthog, hippo, sable antelope, reedbuck, tsessebe, eland and, the less common, the wild dog.

Step 4.

Kruger National Park or Private Game Lodge – Rocktail Bay:
Spend the morning at leisure exploring the African wilderness. After lunch, depart for Mpumalanga International Airport for your flight to Durban.

Transfer options from either the Kruger National Park or Private Game Lodge within the Kruger National Park or surrounding Game Reserves at either Sabi Sand, Timbavati, Manyeleti , Thornybush, Klaserie, Balule or Karongwe to Mpumalanga International Airport.

Depart on your flight from Mpumalanga Internatinal Airport to Durban, arriving late afternoon.

Transfer to accommodation for one night or take a charter flight from Durban to Rocktail Bay.

Transfer options from Durban Airport to Durban City.

Accommodation options in Durban or Rocktail Bay.

Overnight at accommodation of your choice.


 

Step 5.

KwaZulu Natal North Coast - Rocktail Bay:
Depart early morning for your 4 hour drive to Rocktail Bay.

National  car hire options or private transfer from Durban to Rocktail Bay.

Check into accommodation to be reserved at Rocktail Bay.

Rocktail Bay - Situated in northern Natal within the Maputaland Coastal Forest Reserve and adjoining the Maputaland Marine Reserve is the secluded Rocktail Bay Lodge. 

The Indian Ocean is ideal for snorkeling in search of tropical fish – flippers and snorkels may be borrowed at the lodge – while surf fishing is reputed to be among the best on the east coast. 

Sodwana Bay is about 1.45 hours drive from Hluhluwe - flanked by majestic sand dunes on one side, and an intricate ecosystem of wetlands and unspoilt beauty.  Activities include 4x4 drives to Lake Sibaya and Mbibi, snorkelling, bush breakfasts, potjie competitions, and many more.

Spend the balance of the snorkelling and scuba diving amongst the reefs.

Rocktail Bay:
Spend the day enjoying the recreational facilities.

Rocktail Bay – Durban:
After breakfast, check out.  Take a charter flight or drive back to Durban.

On arrival in Durban, check in for your onward flight.

Durban to Cape Town or Johannesburg.
