This is a 15 days Botswana Camping Safari. This adventure safari starts in Kasane and ends at the Victoria Falls in Livingstone, Zambia. The safari covers some of the best wilderness areas in Botswana, from the magic of Nxai Pan through the unique Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve.
Day 1: Transfer to Chobe Area
On your arrival at Kasane Airport, you will meet our safari representative and be transferred to the Chobe Area after having a full safari briefing. When you arrive, you will have a boat cruise on Chobe River, observing different water birds and the game that comes to drink water along the shores of the river. Camping will be in Kasane at a campsite.
Days 2 & 3: Drive to Nxai Pan National Park
After a morning breakfast, drive about 6 hours south to Nxai Pan National Park where grasslands inhabit a diversity of wildlife. Have a lunch stopover en-route and enjoy a game drive in the park on your arrival. On the following day, you will discover Nxai Pan while enjoying the plains which are often scattered with grazing herds of impala and springbok. In the afternoon, you will visit the magnificent Baines Baobabs. These majestic trees, immortalized by the explorer Baines’ painting, are situated on the edge of an expansive saltpan. Camping will be at a private designated campsite.
Day 4: En-route to Maun
After enjoying a morning game drive, you will leave Nxai Pan National Park and continue your safari to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta which is around 3-4 hours drive. On your arrival in Maun, you will have time to visit the shops and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. Overnight at the campsite
Days 5 & 6: Head to Okavango Delta
Have an early breakfast and be transferred for 4 hours from the north westerly direction of Maun to the western side of the Okavango Delta, a special corner of paradise. When you reach the edge of the Delta, you will transfer your equipment to motorboats and cruise along the narrow papyrus-lined channels, enjoying the exquisite birdlife of the region as well as the stunning landscape. Deeper in the Delta, you will meet the local polers with their traditional dugout canoes and enjoy a tranquil transfer to an island. You will spend two days exploring this beautiful area on canoe trips and taking guided walks on the islands and floodplains of the Okavango. Camping will be at the campsite.
Day 7: Re-route to Maun
You will retrace your route to Maun after being inspired by the beauty of Okavango delta. You may decide to return to Maun, by road OR take a scenic flight over the Delta back to Maun. This delightful experience provides another perspective of the Okavango Delta’s unique water system and if you choose to take the flight, you will enjoy a leisurely afternoon in the Delta campsite writing postcards or reading a book while you wait for your afternoon flight. On your arrival at the Maun airport, you will be transferred to maun campsite for an overnight.
Days 8 & 10: Arrive at Moremi Game Reserve
From Maun, you will drive through to Moremi Game Reserve, one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana which covers swamp and dry areas which will take you 6hours including the game drives. The next three days will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. You will have game drives in the early morning as the sun rises and in the late afternoon as the sun sets. Overnight at the campsite
Days 11 & 13: Transfer to Chobe National Park
After breakfast, head to Chobe National Park, with its diverse and striking landscapes. On your arrival at the park, you will start a search for wildlife and also traverse the drier region of Savuti, where bull elephants disperse the plains. You will then head northwards to the Chobe River, where you will have game drives meandering along the banks of the river, followed by the call of the majestic African Fish Eagle. Overnight at the campsite
Days 14 & 15: Cross to Zambia
After a morning game drive in the Chobe Area, you will cross the Zambezi River by ferry and then drive to Livingstone on the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls, where you will spend the night at a comfortable lodge. In the afternoon, visit the roaring Victoria Falls. Overnight at the campsite and on the following day, carry out white water rafting down the Zambezi Gorge, Canoeing on the upper Zambezi, Elephant rides and Helicopter Flights over the Victoria Falls. Finally be transferred to Livingstone Airport to find your departure flight back home.
