The summer (September to April) temperatures vary from 15 degrees to 40 degrees Celsius.
Winter (May to August) temperatures from -6 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Mean average rainfall is 606mm, but the maximum recorded in the last 20 years is 1200mm (2000/2001 summer). Last year (2002/2003 summer) we had about 420mm.

Activities on the reserve include game drives with professional rangers in Big five territory, guided walks and horseback safaris. Visit our Pedi Cultural Village, Eugene Marais museum and curio shops or pamper yourself at our health/beauty centre. Scenic helicopter flights can be arranged including breakfast on Hanglip mountain which is an experience "beyond comparison".
