| Description: Lions Sands Private Game Reserve is situated in the southern portion of the 65,000-hectare Sabi Sand Game Reserve, an area well known for its spectacular game viewing. It has exclusive access to the Sabie River.
This river is central as to why Lion Sands delivers an incomparable safari experience in Africa. Where there is water there is life, rejuvenation and so much more. This is the natural wonder, which can be experienced at Lion Sands.
Lion Sands consists of two lodges namely, Ivory Lodge and River Lodge.
IVORY LODGE:
The lodge has been built on the banks of the Sabie River with magnificent views, extending along the open sand banks of the River. The lodge faces due south and is approximately 100 metres upstream of river Lodge. Ivory Lodge is about African Euro elegance, sophistication yet simplicity, boldness yet balance, ebony & ivory, perfect harmony, exclusivity, sensitivity & complete privacy. The Lodge was recently voted the 3rd best hotel worldwide by Tatler UK 2006.
RIVER LODGE: The lodge has been built on the banks of the Sabie River. It faces due East catching the sum as it rises over the Kruger National Park and is approximately 100 metres downstream of Ivory Lodge. The lodge comprises the following: a private lounge and bar, 2 swimming pools, wooden viewing decks, a secluded bird hide, private hammocks, conference room, gymnasium & health spa, curio shop & both an indoor and open-air Boma dining area. River Lodge is the Soul of Lions Sands. Positioned on a site, which has trees dating back almost 800 years, the lodge is about spirit, warmth, nature & relaxation. It is hosted by a family of Staff that will make it feel like home from home. Relax, enjoy and get to experience African hospitality at its best.

Each villa boasts a romantic bathroom setting as well as an inside and outside shower with a private garden.
River Lodge: 20 x Luxurious rooms, mini bar, separate bath, inside shower, outside shower, private patio, air-conditioning and overhead fans. The public area consists of the Bar Lounge, safari lounge, covered terrace, lower deck, 2 swimming pools and Lalamuka Health Spa. There are daily safaris and bushwalks available. 
Inclusions / Exclusions:River Lodge Rates include: Luxury accommodation, three meals per day, two game drives daily with an optional bush walk, teas/coffees, game drive refreshments & snacks. Ivory Lodge Rates include: Ultra luxurious accommodation, three meals per day, two game drives daily with an optional bush walk, teas/coffees, game drive refreshments & snacks, laundry, local beverages, spirits and wines. Activities Included in Rates: Astronomy, Bush Breakfast, Bush Dinner, Bush Walk, Game Drives, Hippo Tour, Safari Lunch, Wildlife Lectures. Activities Excluded from Rates: Tree House, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Health Spa, Private Game Drives and any outside services.
Tips and Hints:Children's policy We regret that due to the inconvenience to other guests, we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 10 years. River Lodge A child aged 10 or 11 years sharing a room at Lion Sands River Lodge with two full paying adults, will pay 50 % of the per person sharing rate. Children in their own room will pay the standard adult rates. Please note that we only have one room at Lion Sands River Lodge that can accommodate 3 guests – a triple room is therefore subject to availability. Children 12 years and older pay the standard per person rates in their own room at Lion Sands River Lodge. Should you wish to book 2 adults and a child into a suite at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge, a private landrover for the duration of their stay will be compulsory at the standard daily rate for the vehicle.
What to Take: The following is a handy check list: Anti-Malaria precautions (Please consult your doctor/pharmacists); sun hat, Sunglasses, Sun-Block, sturdy comfortable ankle length thick-soled walking boots or track shoes, cameras & binoculars, video cameras & spare batteries, lip cream, contact lens solutions and spare glasses, personal medications.
Winter Months (May - September, +- 3C- 22C) Very warm insulated parkas or bush jackets for the night safaris, scarves to keep the neck warm, Jeans & shorts for everyday wear, Light sweaters for the midday period
Summer Months (October - April, +- 15C - 38C) Cool cotton clothing, T-shirts & shirts (preferably in neutral colours), shorts for everyday wear, Jeans & trousers for evening wear (temperatures can drop to around 18C), swimwear, sandals to wear at the lodge (not essential but more comfortable)
In December 2005 at the Ritz Hotel, London, SATSA member Africa Pride's Lion Sands Ivory Lodge was awarded the prestigious Tatler Travel Magazine award for being the best hotel/lodge in Africa, and was voted as the 3rd Best Hotel in the World 2006, after properties in Vietnam & Italy.
