Description:

The camp lies in the tangled forests of the Tembe Elephant Park, situated on the KwaZulu-Natal boundary with Mozambique. Restricted access to the park means that few people have the opportunity to experience the majesty of Tembe's elephant population of 130 and the park's profuse diversity of flora and fauna.

Tembe offers a clear view over one of the waterholes frequented by the Tembe elephants. It is home to a profusion of wildlife including 130 elephant, 65 rhino, buffalo, leopard, serval, hippo, eland, zebra, giraffe, hyaena, jackal, wildebeest, nyala, kudu, water buck, reed buck, red duiker, warthog and other small mammals.

Tembe Safari Camp is privately managed and offers guided safaris in luxury, air-conditioned or open safari vehicles. Tembe is approximately 4 hours drive, (on tarred road), from Durban and about 6 hours from Gauteng. The park is situated in the northern region of KwaZulu-Natal, (Maputoland), on the South African boundary with Mozambique. (En-route to Ponte de Oro and Kosi Nature Reserve).

The Matriarch Suite, built on a wooden platform is ideal for families or for special occasions such as honeymoons.
