Kapama Private Game Reserve is situated in the Northern Province and covers approximately 12 000 hectares of prime big game territory. The reserve supports a wide variety of game including elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros and a large population of giraffe, impala, blue wildebeest and kudu. Predators include lion, leopard, cheetah and spotted hyena.

The reserve is central to most of the scenic areas of Mpumalanga province. Eastgate Airport lies just outside the reserve with a private entrance into Kapama Private Reserve.

Kapama Private Reserve has three luxury camps, each with its own charm and secluded bush setting, offering prolific viewing of Africa's most impressive animals. Conducted on open Land Rovers, game viewing drives take place either at dawn or dusk and promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Kapama Lodge has 20 luxurious thatched air-conditioned, double chalets accommodating 40 guests overlooks a lake, and offers the discerning traveller the very best of African game lodge experiences. Camp Jabulani - the camp tempts guests with six elegantly appointed suites with double vanity, Victorian bath and outside shower. Each suite has an individual splash pool and private viewing deck, lounge with fireplace, air-conditioning, heating and ceiling fans. Rooms are also equipped with a mini-bar, safe, hairdryer and electric blanket. Regular cleaning service, two turndowns, laundry service and a personal butler are part of the Camp Jabulani charm and attention to detail that surpasses the expectations of the most discerning traveller.  A gym and masseuse service is also available for those wanting additional pampering.

ELEPHANT BACK SAFARI
This is exclusive to Kapama guests and offers a truly unforgettable wildlife experience. There are 12 fully trained elephants, which were relocated from Zimbabwe where their safety was in jeopardy.  Guests are seated on comfortable canvass-covered saddles positioned behind an experienced elephant handler.

Children are welcome at Kapama Lodge but no child under the age of 6 are allowed on game drives.
