Description:

Where the Drakensberg escarpment plunges to the ancient plains of the Lowveld, lies Edeni – the Shangaan word for “Eden”. It nestles beneath a canopy of riverine forest on the banks of the Makhutsi River, where it winds through the 21,000 acre Edeni Private Game Reserve in close proximity to the Kruger National Park (Phalaborwa gate and Orpen gate). This game reserve is pristine with riverine bushveld, mixed woodland and open grassland habitats, perfect for the wildlife that inhabit this unspoiled region. Game visitors can expect to see four of the Big Five (except buffalo) as well as Cheetah, Wild Dog, Hippo, Crocodiles and a host of smaller game.

Birdwatching is also excellent with some 400 species being recorded.

Edeni River Lodge is a new 5-star lodge. The swimming pool overlooks a scenic flood plain equipped with spotlights for night viewing. The chalets are constructed out of indigenous hardwood, each with a private sun deck. The suites are placed along the river to ensure your ultimate privacy. Swimming pool, fully equipped bar in the open lapa, lounge, romantic dining room with fully equipped bar, game drives, etc.

Open 4x4 land cruisers with professional rangers and skilled trackers will ensure an exciting and informative game drive. Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino, Cheetah, Giraffe, Zebra and other general game will give meaning to your bush experience. During the guided bush walk, wildlife interpretations will give insight to creatures big and small.
