Are children included in your safaris?

Rhino Walking Safaris regret that unfortunately, they cannot accommodate children under the age of 12 years old at Plains Camp, sleep-outs or on walking safaris. Children under the age of 12 can be accommodated at Rhino Post, however, they cannot participate in any walking safari.

What is included in the price?

Tariffs are per person sharing and are fully inclusive of accommodation, meals, cold drinks, house wine and beers, tea and coffee and safari activities. These tariffs include a SA Tourism levy.


What is excluded in the price?
Rates exclude the Kruger National Park Conservation fees.

What are your cancellation fees?

Fully Inclusive Tour Reservations
A 50% deposit is required to confirm reservation
Full Pre-payment is required 30 days prior to arrival

Cancellation Policy
Cancelled more than 60 days prior to arrival: 10% of the full accommodation charge
Cancelled more than 30 days prior to arrival: 25% of the full accommodation charge
Cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival: 50% of the full accommodation charge
Cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival: 100% of the full accommodation charge


Do we need to take Malaria Prophylaxis?
The concession is located in a malaria area and we recommend you consult your doctor/pharmacist for the recommended anti-malaria precautions. Please remember that the best insurance is the preventative kind: avoid being bitten by using mosquito repellents liberally. Wear long-sleeved shirts and trousers/slacks in the evenings

Do we need to complete a indemnity form?
On arrival, all guests have to complete an indemnity form before embarking on a trail. Minors must be in possession of a form signed by a parent or legal guardian

What are the tempretures?

Winter Months
May to September  -3 deg C - 22 deg C
Although the days are usually sunny, the evenings and early mornings can be particularly chilly if out on an open vehicle

Summer Months
October to April   15deg C to 38deg C
This is a summer rainfall area. Rain is usually in the form of afternoon thundershowers that cool the hot days.

What clothing do we need?
Clothing should be comfortable & durable. Cool cottons are ideal. Neutral colours such as khaki and green are preferable. An all weather outdoor or bush jacket should be taken along. Sturdy comfortable ankle length thick soled walking boots or track shoes are recommended. In winter ensure your jacket is very warm, such as an insulated parka or bush jacket, and also consider a scarf for the night safaris


Your guides are they trained?
We specialise in luxuty walking safaris, the most rewarding way to discover and experience the secrets of the wilderness. Our walking trails are limited to 8 guests guided by two armed rangers. Our guides meet the stringent requirements of the South African National Parks and senioer guides hold the hightest guiding qualification possible in South Africa.
Our guides will share their wealth of bush culture the identication of animals, trees, grasses, insects,birds,the medicinal uses op plants,local folk lore and basic  tracking & survival skills. Nothing is predictable in the bush therefore each safari offers potentially new experience

The Kruger National Park has several entrance gates, although Rhino Walking Safaris guests are advised to enter through Paul Kruger Gate, as it is the closest to the lodge. Guests must enter the Kruger Gate 45 minutes before closing time to allow sufficient time to drive to Rhino Post. Guests who know in advance that they will be unable to make the gate 45-minutes before closing time can arrive as late as 7pm. There will, however, be a surcharge of R250.00 per vehicle for an escort to accompany guests to the lodge. Prior arrangements must be made to ensure there is an escort available

Plains Camp: Guests arriving after 14H00 will be obliged to spend their first night at Rhino Post Safari Lodge and will be charged the difference in rate between Plains Camp and Rhino Post.
