Are your guides professional?
These treks are led by a professional guide with porters to carry the food and communal equipment.
Participants are expected to carry their own personal effects, or hire a porter at their own cost. Cooking is done on an open fire and participants are expected to assist in setting up tents, collecting firewood and preparing the meals.
Accommodation is in very basic mountain huts or, when camping, in small 2 man dome tents; sleeping mats and bags are not provided - these can be hired for a small fee from Lilongwe.
Please ensure that you have the correct visas for the countries you are visiting. You are required to have a minimum of two blank pages in your passport to enable the entry visa into South Africa to be issued. If there is insufficient space in the passport, entry will be denied and you are likely to be detained pending return to your country of origin.

Tips are not included in the cost of your safari/tour. You are welcome to tender small amounts to the staff and guides. The average acceptable gratuity is 10% for services rendered.
Travel insurance is strongly advised. You should be covered in the event of cancellation or curtailment, death, any medical or rescue expenses, as well as for any loss of baggage, money or personal items. Zimbabwe is excluded for cancellation & curtailment cover.
