Accommodation is in our rustic reeded beach camp, right on the beach. There are 2 ablution blocks within the campsite (unfortunately not maintained by us). The generator goes off at 24:00 and comes back on around 07:00. Don’t forget to bring your mosquito nets (we do not hire nets out) and snorkelling gear, if you have.
Please finalise all sleeping arrangements and dietary requirements with Johannesburg office 2 weeks prior to departure.
Tea and coffee is available throughout your stay, but please bring you own fancy brews for the beach camp. No alcohol or soft drink may be brought to Club da Praia (the restaurant). A selection of both local and imported drinks is available at the bar. Only a R20.00 corkage fee will be charged per bottle of wine brought to dinner, as we can only stock a limited selection.
Any meals forfeited to eat elsewhere, are not refundable and nor can they be kept for consumption the next day, storage space is very limited. Also clients must please inform us in the morning of the day they choose not to eat, in order for us not to over-cater.
Full tour pax contain 3 launches and any extra launches may be booked and paid for in Ponta (R130.00).
(Please bring small money as change is like gold in Ponta.) Launches may be cancelled due to bad seas. Clients will be given a strict code of conduct, which details rules and regulations that must be adhered to when interacting with the dolphins.
Missed dolphin launches, meals and border transfers are not refundable, nor are they deductible from the full tour package price.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before any booking is held or confirmed and if the deposit is not made within 48hrs, the booking will be cancelled. Full payment is required 2 weeks prior to departure and if the date is not met, the booking is null and void.
Cancelled safaris will be carried over for a maximum period of 3 months, if prior arrangement with us is made. No refunds for no-shows or late arrivals.
The border transfer cost is built into the full tour package price, however, if clients are staying on a dinner, bed and brunch package then a fee of R100.00 is added.
If arrivals are running late, please inform us in good time, as it is a good 30 minute drive to the border. Late clients, who miss the pick-up without informing us, will be charged an extra fee of R10.00 for the second pick-up that must be made. Transfer times must be pre-arranged with our Johannesburg office
Group bookings:
Group safaris of more then 12 people are allowed. 2 Facilitators who stay free, paying only the R86 per person per night Mozambican campsite fee.
Facilitators and clients entering the camp prior to the full tour dates are liable to pay R160.00 per person per night bed rate, if not on catering. Otherwise the R290.00 dinner, bed and brunch rate is applicable.
A Dolphin Encounsafaris booking form per client is compulsory, as it contains all the vital information that we require. Alternatively a detailed list showing sleeping arrangements, dietary requirements and border transfer times, per person is necessary.
Financial deposits for groups must be paid in 2 lump sums, the 50% non-refundable deposit and then the remaining identical amount 2 weeks prior to departure. This only varies if more people book then initially planned, and the amount thus varies. No individual amounts from clients must be deposited into our bank account.
Banners or advertising placed within dolphin beach camp for the duration of the tour must not be visible from outside the camp.
No pictures of humans touching dolphins can be used in publicity associated with Dolphin Encounsafaris.
What to bring:
Peaceful Sleep or Tabbard, to keep the mosquitoes at bay. If you have a mosquito net, bring it along. High sunblock and windbreaker for the boat. Hat, towels and a torch, candles are forbidden in the rooms! Cool drinks, alcoholic beverages and some snacks if you want. Mask and snorkel, fins are not essential, but do make it a little easier and we do not hire out fins. You can hire a mask and snorkel from us @ R100.00 for the weekend. We do not recommend a wetsuit, as it keeps you too buoyant and you can't dive down to play with the dolphins, but a sharkskin or lycra suit are fine. Some warm clothes just in case and walking shoes. Don’t forget you costume and beachwear. If you have a tendency toward seasickness, bring along your own medication.
We trust that you have read the above mentioned terms and conditions and hope to share this magical experience with us. Enjoy!
